Money
As I was driving home last night it occurred to me that if I didn't have rent to pay I could easily pay off both of my credit cards and my car in a very short period of time. I could also make an actual dent in my student loans.

Raise = financial security
3.3 pay checks and I can afford the Britney meet and greet package. And by afford I honestly mean pay all my other bills, savings included, still be comfortable. I am now more confident that I'll pay off my credit card debt by the time I'm 25. And as far as student loan debt: if I use one paycheck a month it'll take ~72 months or 6 years to pay it off, which is still terrifying but I would be a lot worse off if I didn't have that debt.

I love my job.
I legitimately had two samples today: one at 9:30 and the second at 3...I got paid $100 (pretax) to sit at my desk and do some scanning (which allows us to keep our ISO 9000 certification, so it actually is important), texting and reading on buzzfeed.

Mean Green
I am now significantly curbing my spending (aka spending next to nothing) to save up for a car. It helps a lot that I have no friends in town and that WP has nothing to do, but it doesn't help that my hours at the store have been significantly cut.

Dying slowly
I literally had five days off the entire break and it feels like I didn't work a single day if you look at my accounts and credit card statements. This semester is going to test me. I am so very thankful that I can start my cash job again on Tuesday because without it I don't know what I would do.

PS4
So I'm not going to get any manga at Otakon so I can get the ps4 in November. ANND I'm also preordering FFX (obviously...) that's $40, and I have Kingdom Hearts 1.5 preordered, I owe $20, and I am going to get FFXIII-3 (yes, I know) which is going to be $60, so I need to set aside $120 for video games in addition to the $400 for the ps4. I already have $100 set aside for it and I was going to buy something from lulu, but I think I might not because I really really want the ps4. I might dump out my piggy banks again and take all the coins out of my car to see if I can scrounge up twenty or so dollars to help ease the pain. Maybe I'll sell my soul or something.

Sometimes I go online and find things that I would love to have, but know I cannot afford for another five years.

I'm at the end of the road.
Every time I ask if we can book things months in advance you say, "I don't want to because I don't know where I'll be in x months." And then you have the nerve to ask me to drop my life at a moments notice to do things that require large sums of money, time off of work and normally months notice. Not everyone works year round to spend their money on whatever they want when they want. You don't have to pay for anything yet you have nothing in savings because you work and then spend entire pay checks on nothingness. I don't understand how you're so blind as to not see what you're doing. Just because it's summer doesn't mean it's "free time". I also take offense that you seem to be under the assumption that you're my number 1 and if you ask the I'll say yes, yet you treat your friends like crap and don't appreciate a thing they do. How hard is it for everyone in that town to understand that???? I have priorities that are more important than "fun" right now and for the next two years, summers included. "Fun" has not been a priority since before August 2010. I don't have time, money or energy to dillydallyshillyshally around like you do. I'm in the process of bettering myself so that I can one day have fun when I want, but now is not that time. Yet you (and your family) have the nerve to say that I'm wasting my time, but at the same time you're complaining about your family's finances and the fact that your parent's don't want to work/barley work. Perhaps this is why I speak to maybe 5 people from that place.
You need to check yourself before I check out.

....
Yes, you got the new limited edition red god of war ps3. Woo. I've never played the game, so I'm not jealous there. AND instead of inserting the disk on the side, somehow it's inserted on the top...I'm not sorry that's not a big deal. I couldn't care less. I can take care of my things because I know the value of a dollar instead of having mommy and daddy throwing money at me left and right. Unlike you who broke their ps3 and had to buy a new one.

Yoga mat
I definitely need a new mat. I slip wayyyyy too much on my gaiam. I'd like a "pricey-er" mat, but it's probably not the best investment right now. Maybe another gaiam from target (especially now that I get 10% off with my card). I've gotten so much more serious in my practice that I want something better. When I mentioned needing a new mat she just brushed it off and said something along the lines of I already have one so don't waste my money on another one...But when my dad saw that I had this box set sorta thing of yoga (dvd and cards and a booklet from Courtney) he was like, "Ohh you're going to start practicing yoga?" 1. I was happy he said "practice". 2. He was more positive about it than mother. Well see how it goes. I was considering getting a lulu jacket with my tax return, but it will all depend on if I can get my job back in May...

Money
My Uncle just gave me $500 for school like it was nothing. Because I needed it. Because I have no money. All the money I do have goes to school. Because I'm broke, but financial aid won't help me. Yet my debt is amazingly low for someone who has been in school as long as me. When I graduate and get a job I want to be that financially stable that one day I could do the same for any nieces or nephews.

Really?
So apparently every time I say, "I can't do xyz because I don't have money." nobody believes me. Nobody believes that school wiped out my savings and continues to do so. Nobody believes that I've been the one paying for school out of my own pocket for the last three semesters; that I am the one writing checks for thousands of dollars. That I am paying my way through college without help. It honestly makes me want to slap you.

Pro and con to rich friends
A time I love my rich friends is when I get to go to Myrtle Beach for a week and all I have to do is pay for food. A time I hate them is when they say, in reply to my hatrid for being broke, "Just get a job to pay for it." One: I've been working years longer than you have, two: you get to save all your money because your parents actually pay for everything and your money that you have from your job pays for the extra extra stuff you want. Your parents pay for everything and then all the extra fun stuff you want. So please, just stop because no one wants to hear your claims that you save oh so much, when you don't have to spend a cent of your own.

Money.
You have some nerve. The internet went out for about 1.5 hours this morning (yes, I know it's 7 am, I obviously haven't been to sleep) and I text you to see if it's out in the library and you say yes. I then complain that I have work due at 8 am blah blah and then you have the balls to tell me this is why I should have a smart phone. Excuse me. You don't pay for anything and you have never paid for anything. You have never worked a day in your life, everything has been handing to you on a silver platter. You don't know what it means to work for your money. That nice car you got for your 15th bday, before you even had your learners permit. You don't pay insurance on it, you have never worked hard to put the $50+ it takes to fill up your tank. So don't tell me, a productive member of society, a person who has been working since they were 15 that I need to simply "get a smart phone". I know without a shadow of a doubt that you have heard me say that when I graduate and get a real job I plan on treating myself to a smart phone. You see the difference? I work for everything I have. My parents don't just give me their credit card and say, "Get what you want." No. The second I got a job I worked for everything. I pay for my phone and I'm sorry that as a student I don't have an extra $100/month just sitting in my bank account. I'm sorry I have much bigger priorities in my life, like I don't know writing a check for $2500 to go to school last semester. Mind you that was all my money that I saved from working. Oh and how about the other $800 check I had to write this semester??? And then on top of that the minor things that teachers claim we "need", but don't (ie access to online homework, new clicker, etc...)?? All that came out of my account.
In short, I'm sorry my parents are loaded and can buy me all the toys I want, when I want them. You and your sibling don't know the value of a dollar because you've never made one, but you sure can spend them. How many cars has he had because he "wants a newer/better/prettier/w/e" one??? How many smart phones has he had??? So don't tell me I should "just" get a smart phone. You have no idea.
