M Practice.
I've been feeling off about my yoga practice recently. I haven't been practicing as much as I'd like and when I don't go to class for whatever reason, I beat myself up about it. Today after class I was talking to the instructor/owner and she said, "Your practice has been amazing" and I was just so shocked. I then told her how on Monday I was very off balance, missing ques, just not there mentally, etc and she told me she couldn't tell. That quick comment meant the world to me and made my day so much better.

Get in here
I love belonging to a studio where I can be sitting in the lobby area between classes and the owner/instructor calls out, "Hey Mia, get in here. I want to show you something." And then of course we play between classes.

YTT
Having two of my yoga instructors in two different conversations tell me I should consider teacher training is such an honor. For them to think that I would be ready for such an endeavor is amazing and so humbling.

Yoga Bliss
On the bright side of life I've found a yoga studio that I basically go to 5-6 times a week. They had a two week unlimited class pass for $20 and I probably went to 17 classes. Aka abused the living mess out of it. And then to top it off I joined when they were having their summer sign up sale for new members only, so I get 20% off my monthly rate as long as I don't change my account. So of course I signed up for the unlimited monthly, which would have been the same price that I'm (still) paying in Richmond, but because of the sale I only pay $70/month. Highway robbery for an unlimited pass.

Heart over head
We practiced inversions today in yoga and it makes me want to start practicing them again at home. It was wonderful.

Practice Again
I was so good last year at spending time on my mat daily. This semester I could probably count on one hand how many at home sessions I've had. After tomorrow's biochem test I will remember to honor my practice again.

Yogi
So I ran into a few friends in the gym today as I was going to get my stuff out of the locker. For classes at the gym you must obtain a wristband to go to one; so I had two on from my two back to back yoga classes and a friend saw them and was surprised and said, "OMG you went to two hours of yoga classes?" And I simply responded, "Yeah, I go to about five classes a week." But the real point of this post and what made my day was that another friend said to my confused friend, "Yeah, didn't you know? Mia's a yogi!"
My friends all know that I regularly practice yoga, but to have one call me a 'yogi' honestly made my day.

A friend texted me today and asked me a yoga question. I am a friend's go to yoga-answering person. You don't understand how happy that makes me. : )

Level 3 Practice
The gym has Yoga 1, 2 and 3 level classes today. I went to 1 and 2 earlier, which were back to back, and it was wonderful. I was at peace for two hours and I was just blissful. So after the end of the second class I ask the teacher what level 3 is like - I was thinking full inversions, but she said she rarely does inversions at the gym and I don't blame her, some moron thinking it's easy and then falls and breaks their neck. So anyways I ask her and she said from what she saw of me today in the first two classes she thinks that I would be fine in the level 3 class and that I should definitely try it. It makes me excited that she thinks that I could actually keep up. We will see at 4!!

Yoga mat
I definitely need a new mat. I slip wayyyyy too much on my gaiam. I'd like a "pricey-er" mat, but it's probably not the best investment right now. Maybe another gaiam from target (especially now that I get 10% off with my card). I've gotten so much more serious in my practice that I want something better. When I mentioned needing a new mat she just brushed it off and said something along the lines of I already have one so don't waste my money on another one...But when my dad saw that I had this box set sorta thing of yoga (dvd and cards and a booklet from Courtney) he was like, "Ohh you're going to start practicing yoga?" 1. I was happy he said "practice". 2. He was more positive about it than mother. Well see how it goes. I was considering getting a lulu jacket with my tax return, but it will all depend on if I can get my job back in May...

My Yoga Journey
I just did my first real headstand. I floated my way up and held it. I am so very proud of myself you have no idea. I didn't think I had the core for this, but apparently I do. I can now say I've done my first real inversion. Now it's time to work on balance. I'll get a video on here soon, but for now I think I'm going to do it a few more times. At the beginning of the school year I couldn't do this. I can see my progress in my videos. I'm happy I decided to record myself. Watching myself fall a million times was definitely worth it because it lead me to this moment.
I am amazing.
I am stronger.
I am successful.

Yoga
Went to yoga today and ran into some friends that were also attending. It makes me feel awesome that I'm more flexible - not that yoga is competitive. It also made me feel awesome that nobody took my regular spot, front and center, today. It was left wide open for me to return to next week. : )
It's also amusing how one of the girls (C. Croom) didn't know that I was a frequent flyer at the gym and live a pretty healthy lifestyle.
