You annoy me...nothing new

M: Have an awesome first day. Don't drop any dishes!
A: Haha I'll try! I'm dying of nerves!
M: You'll be fine

working

M: How was it?
A: Terrible.
M: : ( What happened?
A: They were really rude. Like I got so upset I cried...
M: Customers or employees?
A: Employees.
M: Oh wow. It's probably cuz you're new and no one likes training. [perhaps I could have been nicer, but I have barely any patients for her anymore] Were the tips decent at least?
A: Didn't get any [prolly cuz you sucked I thought]. Not only do you pay the chefs half of what you get.  You pay the bus boy and bartender like 20%.
M: I didn't know about the chefs, but I thought paying the buses was standard.

A: Paying bussers 3% is normal not 20% [Why? You're both working hard?]

Apparently I didn't respond after that.
I have very little sympathy and she has told me nothing that warrants the little that I have left for having a sucky first day. Did you really think being a waitress at a slightly-higher end restaurant was going to pay well? Perhaps and I can see where she'd think that, but I'm not super shocked at what she has to pay to others; the bartender made the superfancy drinks that they ordered so you tip them, the bus boy cleaned [and in some places sets] the table that the customers eat at, you take there order and bring them their food that the chef cooked. Soooo what makes you think that you are the only one who deserves a tip? I believe other people are working harder than you and deserve the tip (or even a fraction of the tip) more than you do. You want instant gratification and that just isn't how life works.
